Here at Petted we’re all pet parents, so we get that insurance can be hard to understand. There are copays, deductibles, pre-existing conditions... sometimes it feels like you need a dictionary to hand to help explain it all!
That’s why we built this reviews platform.
By gathering thousands of reviews from pet parents across the US in one place, we’ve made it easy for you to find out exactly what real people think of America’s leading insurers. And don’t think we only let the good reviews onto the site: we include people’s opinions whether they’re good, bad, or indifferent. We also give insurers the chance to respond to reviews, because we think the fairest thing is to give you as much information as possible when you’re making what is a really important decision for you and your pet.
You can filter results by things like breed and insurer to make it even easier. So go ahead and see what thousands of other pet parents are saying!
It’s an okay insurance but it sucks having to pay the full amount at the visit and then having to be reimbursed at a later date. It feels pointless to have that coverage, when I need the coverage at the appointment. The reimbursement is nice, but its not convenient
I have an older rescue dog (7 years) and figo has yet to cover any treatments for him. They always find a way to pull the tiniest detail from his medical records to prove a preexisting condition. Ex. Allergy shots aren’t covered bc he has had ear inflammation before. I only keep the insurance for the 24/7 live vet chat option.
Unsure of the quality, doubtful
I signed up earlier this summer for pet insurance since I’ve been advised to get it once my pet turns 10. Signing up was easy, but getting them to respond about my claims and my pets history has taken over a month. I’m left in a bit of limbo not understanding why its taking so long and whether they will cover any of the 2 claims I submitted. Unlike most pet insurance that says – you are ineligible if you have diagnosed pre-existing conditions, this one also disqualifies you if your vet EVER said anything on your chart about your urine analysis (cant cover UTIs), your teeth (but vets are always trying to push pet dentistry regardless of its medical relevance), your skin… I end up being left with a feeling that all insurance is a scam, they do whatever they can to avoid actually covering you.
Always good with accident prone doggies
We were failed fosters who took in Scooby as he was being taken to be euthanized.
His crime was that he was a puppy and had strange coloring and his ridge was short.
We soon learned he had medical issues. One which is more common for much smaller breeds (lack of knee channel in leg) and a botched “fixing”.
We believe they severed nerves. He also had an issue with his appendages falling out. Which also required surgery.
He is now 6 and a great companion.
Expensive and doesn't cover my vet expense
My title says it all. Didn’t cover any allergy treatments because Insurance company said they were pre existing. .
