Progressive has been around for decades, having been started before World War II by a pair of lawyers in Ohio who saw a gap in the market for better-value car insurance. In 2007, Progressive added pet insurance to all of its car insurance policies, giving customers $500 for pets who’d been injured when you’re in a car accident. Since 2009, through a partnership with renowned pet insurer, Pets Best, Progressive offers its own pet insurance policy.

Progressive offers a trio of accident and illness plans, and their affordable prices mean that plans can cost as little as $10 per month. However, the only coverage limits are either $5,000 or Unlimited. The accident-only option, meanwhile, only comes with a $10,000 annual limit.

FACT! Having started in auto insurance in 1937, Progressive was the first insurance company in the US to have a website

Pet’s Best Health Insurance. Could it really be the best?

I have just recently insured with Pet’s Best and have registered 6 pets under them. The cost is pretty low for all of them every 3 months. The reimbursement rate is 90% for me which I like. They also cover quite a bit of illnesses and accidents which is great in case there is an emergency. So far I have had no problems but I am looking into other pet insurance companies to see if they can offer more for less. So the best? Not necessarily but perhaps in the top 10.
