What’s the best pet insurance – ManyPets or Fetch?
ManyPets is the newer of the two insurers here but experience doesn’t automatically make a provider any better. Both it and Fetch are commendable in a variety of departments. Whichever way you decide to swing, we hope this comparison sheds some light on the conversation. Make sure you take your time and test each provider against the things that matter most to you, as someone with a furry one’s health to take care of. We strongly suggest that you also use our super-speedy pet insurance quote page and review pages, which will help you decide which pet insurance plan is best for you. What do the plans cover?
ManyPets and Fetch both offer accident and illness plans covering things like hereditary, congenital and chronic conditions. Both companies cover things like X-rays, prescription medications and CAT scans. Like ManyPets, Fetch covers dental illness and accidents and vet exam fees at no extra cost. ManyPets and Fetch both cover euthanasia costs, but Fetch also has some nice niche features like a lost pet advertisement scheme. While Fetch does not offer a wellness plan, ManyPets offers it as an add-on, which includes things like vaccines, dental cleaning, flea prevention, and holistic care. Like most insurers, both only offer coverage for cats and dogs, which is worth thinking about if your pet does not fall into these two furry categories. Both plans cover many common illnesses and conditions that a pet can suffer from, such as:- Arthritis
- Cancer
- Cataracts
- Cruciate injury
- Dental disease
- Dermatitis
- Diabetes
- Diarrhea
- Ear infections
- Hip dysplasia
- Gastroenteritis
- Kidney disease
- Limping
- Liver disease
- Lymphoma
- Pancreatitis
- Seizures
- Vomiting

Are there any exclusions?
Both Fetch and ManyPets exclude pre-existing conditions. ManyPets, however, says that it only categorises something as pre-existing if it has required advice, treatment or medication in the last 18 months. ManyPets will include some bilateral conditions (e.g. hip dysplasia in one leg even if the other has had dysplasia), provided that the covered leg had no pre-existing signs. It doesn’t, however, cover hip dysplasia if the pet enrolled is six years or older. It’s always best to read the full list of exclusions before signing up for any pet insurance plan. How expensive are ManyPets and Fetch?
ManyPets will probably be a little cheaper than Fetch but there won’t be much in it, and a lot will depend on the way that you balance out the cost of your deductibles, and whether you want to adjust your reimbursement limit. Fetch’s annual limit options are $5,000, $10,000 and $15,000, compared with ManyPets’ unlimited cover. At both providers you have the common 70/80/90% reimbursement options. Fetch charges you for paying monthly, something ManyPets does not do. To be sure of an exact comparison for your pet, however, use our quote calculator.Medium Mixed 3 months old in Los Angeles

Do ManyPets or Fetch offer discounts?
Fetch doesn’t offer a multi-pet discount but does have plenty of others: 10% off if you’re a veteran or you’re in the military, if you adopt a rescue pet, if you’re a member of AARP, if you’re a vet or work in the profession, and if your pet is a therapy animal. Perhaps most importantly, it also offers 15% off for each consecutive year without a claim. ManyPets, meanwhile, doesn't offer any discounts. Are the plans customizable?
You can adjust your plans – including your reimbursements and deductibles – at both providers. ManyPets also allows you to add its preventative care plan. ManyPets has three deductible amounts ($100, $250, $500) – Fetch offers $300, $500 and $700. Reimbursement levels at both are 70%, 80% or 90%.How do I make claims?
Fetch needs you to make your claim within 90 days and you can do so via its app or through its website. ManyPets, meanwhile, doesn’t have an app but has a quick claims process with two options: calling the company or doing it online. Both companies have a good reputation for processing claims efficiently. Are they easy to contact?
They certainly are. ManyPets has myriad options: phone (888 978 5291), email, live website chat, and social media. Fetch can also be contacted by mail, phone (866 467 3875), email, social media, and online chatbot.Customer reviews
Fetch’s customer service is very popular and, while it changed its underwriter in 2016 and upset some customers as a result, the feedback now is terrific. While ManyPets customers are glowing with praise for the service, it is impossible to ignore that there are some negative reviews that find fault with the company’s customer service. ManyPets is a young company, however, and much of this could be put down to teething problems.Frequently asked questions
People ask us a lot of different questions about the pet insurance providers we work with. It’s the smart thing to do because no two insurers are the same. Here are some common questions (and the answers!).What are the waiting periods?
ManyPets' is 15 days for accident and illness BUT, if you’re switching from a different insurer, the company is unique in offering to bring down those waiting periods to 24 hours. Fetch’s customers have to stick with 15 days for both illness and accident cover to kick in.
Do the plans include behavioral treatments?
ManyPets’ plans don’t but Fetch’s do – they can offer up to $1,000 in behavioral therapy and medicine without you having to take out a separate rider.
Is there a maximum age for enrolment?
At ManyPets it’s 14 but Fetch has no maximum.
Do they need my pet’s medical records?
Yes, both do. Fetch says that it wants detailed medical records from the most recent check-up your pet had. ManyPets wants medical records from the last 18 months.
Will the insurer pay the vet directly?
Neither will, unfortunately.
Is my pet covered in other countries?
Fetch and ManyPets both cover you if you're in the US or visiting Canada.
Do they have a vet telehealth service?
ManyPets doesn’t but Fetch does.
